Grants to support Dartford's communities
Dartford Borough Council is inviting local 'not for profit' registered charities and community groups to apply for funding from the Community Grant Scheme 2014.
Grants of between £500 and £3,000 are available for local groups to improve the opportunities they offer to Dartford residents.
Eligible projects must meet the set criteria and:
improve Dartford's sporting provision or work towards improving club standards through accreditation or training;
improve, provide or expand services for young people or older people.
Applications will be judged by a panel of councillors and successful applicants will receive their funding before the end of the current financial year.
Councillor Jennifer Rickwood, chair of the grants approval panel, says, “The Community Grant Scheme helps residents to improve their own communities – and rewards innovative and effective local projects and volunteers with funding to further improve the services and activities available in Dartford. I look forward to seeing the worthy array of projects the Borough has to offer and awarding the grants.”
Full details of the scheme and an online application form are available at www.dartford.gov.uk/communitygrants. Applications and supporting documents must be received by midday on Monday 13 October 2014.
